Shamit Khemka - Types of communication in the corporate world

Shamit Khemka, the Founder & MD of SynapseIndia, says that business leaders need to understand the entire process of communication to achieve business success. The modern-day corporate world is replete with communication. But all communications taking place in a business setting are not the same. They fall into different categories.

Bulletin boards, for example, used to be a common communication platform in the early days of the industrial uprising. This form of communication has now become virtually archaic. After bulletin boards, newsletter and magazines became the next tool for communication across the organization. This type of communication tries to address the inability of management to directly communicate with every single employee in the organization.

Email is the latest and fastest-growing communication within an organization is email. E-mails have proven to be the most effective tool for organizational communication of all that have been invented and tried so far. An e-mail has many advantages. Apart from being instantaneous, it also creates a democratic system, enabling everyone to communicate regardless of their position in the organization.
